-The phone still gets recognised by itunes - however, turns very hot after a few minutes. The heat comes from the mainboard area. A battery replacement did not fix the issue. Reassembling did not fix the issue either.

Looking at the only solution posted so far, I suspect it is caused by a shortcut that somehow damages the display but are unable to confirm this theory.
I'm afraid that this might happen again after a few weeks if I replace the display, since I don't know what actually caused the display to fail.
