I went into installer cache, in c\programdata\apple. I uninstalled the latest applemobiledevicesupport6464 (in my case it was 9.3.0.15) (doubleclick on the file package it'll ask if you want to repair or remove, choose remove).
Then I went to the oldest applemobiledevicesupport I could find (always in programdata\apple\installer cache), it was version 8.2.1.3) doubleclick, install and now I can connect my Ipod 1st gen. Obviously I'll never update Itunes again...
