I was replacing a cracked screen on my OnePlus One, and when I got to the step to remove the battery I had a tough time. After a bit of trying, I noticed that one part of the battery was glued pretty strongly to the body, and that the battery was bending slightly.
From what I could tell, it felt like the inside of the battery had several smaller battery compartments. I know this is how some other commercial batteries are made, so I did not think much of it and ended up just straightening the battery and finishing the screen replacement.
I have not reassembled the phone, but while charging I started to worry myself that maybe I should not use this battery for risk of fire/explosion. It felt like the bend wasn't anything breaking, but I really don't know.
I am currently charging it (while keeping an eye to make sure it doesn't catch fire), and have not noticed any hot spots on the body of the phone. Has anyone had experience with these batteries that could help me? Do I need to turn it off immediately and wait til I can get a replacement? Or should I try the phone for a bit and see how it runs?
