-'Black Screen of Death'?
+'Black Screen of Death'? Need Help

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

-So, my New 3DS XL (the model with amiibo support and the c-stick) suddenly stopped working. While trying to fix an issue with the 3D not working right, both screens went black. I could still hear the music and sounds playing on the main menu, but I can't select anything. The system also doesn't turn off right away when pressing the power button and it doesn't go to sleep when closed either. Everyone else I've asked thinks that I must've dropped it and knocked something loose, but after opening up the system and checking, I can't tell what's wrong. I've given up looking it up on the internet because all I get is how to fix a similar problem with the older models, and that doesn't help me in the slightest. I'm really frustrated right now and just want a straight answer. Can anyone tell me what's wrong? And how to fix it, because as a college student I really don't have the time or money to send it in for repairs.

As a side note, I bought this system over a year ago, so the warranty is expired. I'd rather not just buy a new one because I have no way of transferring my profile over to a new system. And this means I'll loose all $150+ worth of games, DLC, themes, and whatnot I've bought over 2 years of owning a 3DS, not to mention all the Pokemon I currently have stored in Pokemon Bank. So a new system is out of the question unless there's an alternate way for me to copy over/transfer my profile.
