it sounds like you definitely blew the LCD. but the fact that you took out a hairdryer could have done a lot more damage.
Replacing the screen may help, but with water damage the problems it can cause can be endless. you can take the risk if you like, but there is no guarantee it will work.
Most reputable repair shops that specialize in micro soldering would be able to help you, but the price of repairing it may be more than the phone is worth. It's up to you if you want to spend that amount of money.
If there is data on the phone that you need recovered though then they should be able to help you out with that too
