PS Gold headset - change out the USB Charge port

I've purchased the PS Gold headset and they worked perfectly for about 4 months.  Now the headset will not accept a charge.  I've tried changing the cord, the method of charge (PS3 and PS4) and nothing works.  I'm wondering if the USB charge port has issues and how to fix them.
