Hi everybody!
A friend and I are currently studying the possibility to set up a small smartphones/tablets reparation shop in our town.
Like all the wannabe repairers, we are currently "trying hard" to understand something about the very shadowy spare part market…
We've got a big pending question mark: why are virtually only LCDs for Apple and some high-level Samsung references refurbished in China (and not only in China nowadays, given the number of people that seems got involved in that business!)?
We don't get why there is such a little offer (competitively priced in particular) for mid-market phones refurbished LCDs (Sony, LG, Huawei, etc).
The same on Youtube! Try to find videos on "how to refurbish a Sony Xperia Z5 LCD" for instance, there are no or very little, while every second dude explains you how to refurbish an iPhone 4, 5, 6.
Is that because it’s not possible, I mean that the LCDs of these phones are of too poor quality to withstand the refurbishing process?
Or is that just a cost to selling price criteria, or said differently, refurbishing the LCD for those models is too expensive when comparing the reparation cost to the original price of the device or to the price constructors sell themselves new official spare parts?
Thank you very much in advance for your answers, I think you’re going to help a full bunch of newbies like us :D
Take care!
