Technical question about backlight adhesive for Samsung Galaxy S3/Neo

Hi.
During the repairing process, I took out of the frame the display with playing cards but I have ruined the graphite film which is attached to the backside of the lcd and glued to the internal of the frame. Screen and touch works fine except It lost colors, the image is with a blue tint and has become very darkish (I can barely see when powering on the Samsung Galaxy logo). Now, I thaught It was just a simple adhesive, but I see many stores that sell this part as a "backlight film adhesive". Replacing it, will it really restore the backlight?
I can imagine that the graphite adhesive is functioning as a ground of the real backlight, but I havent't found any detailed information on how it works.
