-Fingerprint Reader married to board?
+Fingerprint reader married to board?

I work at a phone repair shop, and I just ordered a Nexus 5x for myself. Now, I know that the with the iPhone 5s and up, TouchID is built into the home button and that swapping out the home button for another will make TouchID quit working (error 53) since the home button (and the TouchID chip) are married to the motherboard. Now that Google, LG and Huwei have adopted fingerprint readers, are they taking a similar approach with Imprint?

Has anybody attempted a fingerprint reader replacement on either of these phones? If so, does Google, like Apple, marry the reader and board together? Or, does Imprint still work after a fingerprint read replacement?
