I have a Galaxy Tab 4 8 inch from T-Mobile. It works great but recently I have had trouble with the touch screen. I tried a factory reset and the problem still persisted. The touch screen works for the most part but the top 5% of the screen just doesn't respond to touch. I installed a touch screen tester where you draw across the screen and it is definitely the top 5% of the screen below the Samsung logo. I opened the case with a spudger and the screen cable was loose. So I pushed it back down but it doesn't lock in any way. It definitely feels secure but there is no click feeling when you push it down it kind of just sits there. The problem is it comes loose again every day or two. I tried taping it down but it still happens somehow. It also seems like the connector cannot be pushed all the way down because when it is the touch screen acts weird. There will be phantom touches happening when I'm not even touching the screen and parts of the screen work very sporadically. Does anyone have a clue how to fix this. Is there like a foam piece I can buy to keep it pushed down all the time. Or could this be the behavior of the digitizer and going bad? I don't want to have to replace the digitizer because I am horrible at separating the digitizer from the LCD and don't want to have to spend between 50 and $80 on the whole LCD assembly. Has anyone else experienced this specific problem? Any suggestions? Should I just suck it up and try to send it into Samsung? I only got it 3 months ago so it should still be under under warranty I think. Did I void my warranty by opening it? Any help would be appreciated thanks.
