How do i get my ipod unlocked its not a touch screen its a nano. My problem is... I have no way of getting the password to this due to it being a old friend of mines ipod... We lost touch a while back...

I was finally able to charge it after 3 months... Now i forgot about there being a 4-digit password... I don't want to reset it .... It has much valued stuff on it.... Is there anything or anyone who can help me?
