My backlight's long slow death is complete, please advise

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

A while back (probably 9 months or more) I replaced the HDD in my iBook G4 (1.2 GHz). Everything went smooth, expect that from then on if I adjusted the screen too far towards me the backlight would flick off and I couldn't get it back on, except by putting it to sleep and then reawakening it with the screen in a better position.

About two weeks ago, it started flicking off when I adjusted it too far away from me as well and now it seems to be permanently off. I now have it connected to an external display, which works fine, but it means I now just have an underpowered desktop.

I can live without a fix (My new iPod Touch coming will become my mobile computer), but if it is something that is fairly inexpensive I'd like to fix it. I'm pretty comfortable opening up and fiddling inside the iBook. So far I've replaced the HDD and the DC-IN board.
