How do I separate the arm&screen from the body?

I use my iMac with a separate display because the screen has gone black (burnt out).

If I have no use for the swivel arm and dead screen, can I remove them without compromising functionality? The iMac is old (2003), not worth a repair, but fully functional if connected to my TV.
