I ordered a new charging port. I have installed it but I still have the same issue. The screen flashes the batt icon initially with a red bar. Then after a few seconds it flashes kindle fire on and off for 10 minutes or so. I have tried all the suggestions for holding pwr button for various amounts of time and then trying a restart but it is frozen in the flashing loop. Nothing will stop it. Until it runs out of the timed sequence. Then I can plug it into the charger and it will do the same thing all over. I have also tried several different chargers that I know to work. Not sure if I want to invest any more money in this issue. Could it be the battery? I didn't find it that difficult to open the case.
