I'm going to need to replace the right blower on a PowerBook G4 FW800.
The instructions indicate that I have to remove the logic board so I'll need new thermal pads.
However, I was wondering if anyone has experience using arctic silver instead of the official thermal pads.
My guesstimation is that arctic silver applied properly would likely out-perform the pre-made pads however the heat sink may rely upon the spacing defined by the pads.
Anyone have suggestions?
