new 2tb h.d. not recognized by computer:

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I bought a new 2tb h.d. from ifixit to replace the recently deceased 250 gig one that had been supplied by apple in 2007; but when I booted the computer to load tiger, the disk was not recognized. It was as if it did not exist! A question posted here last February told a similar story; but no one had answered. Is it possible to find a way to format and use the new h.d.? I am now using my external h.d. to run tiger, hopefully as a temporary measure. Once the new h.d. is up and running, I shall re load leopard and snow leopard and be happy once again.
