Screen doesn't work, used to work at certain angles.

Hi all,
-The screen doesn't work anymore, but it used to work on certain angles.
-What i get now is The screen lights ever so slightly but stays black when turned on.
-It works fine with external monitor.
-I am assuming it is a connection issue between the main body of the laptop and the screen itself.
-when shining external light on screen, screen stays black so i don't think its a back lighting issue.
could this issue be a damaged LVDS connector, LVDS cable, or LCD screen?.
any help would me much appreciated. cheers,
