This symptom is usually a sign of water damage.  Could the device have gotten damp when the glass was damaged?

Did you replace the screen and digitizer with the glass?  This is usually a good idea as damage to the glass usually results in damage to the screen below.  Also it is hard to remove the old glass without damaging the ribbon.
