Green screen on black areas of monitor

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

Hi,
After using an external monitor with my 2009 2.66GHz MBP for the 1st time in at least 2 years, the black (and some dark coloured areas) on my LCD started flickering bright green. I am not sure if one has anything to do with the other.
I pulled off the back cover and removed and cleaned the LCD connection, but the problem is still there. The monitor shows perfect on an external VGA so I don't think its the graphic card - however when I touch the bottom of the motherboard (metal guard near the battery) the issue goes away.
Does anybody have any idea what this issue could be?
-Thanks for any help

+Update:

+I replaced my monitor and the green lines in black issue disappeared only to be replaced by purple vertical lines all over the screen. They come and go at random.

+Any ideas?
