Surface RT charging port replacement still not charging

My surface RT stopped charging (No light on connector) So I replaced the power supply. Still not charging. Next I bought the replacement charging port from FixIt and installed it perfectly, but when I connected the PS still not charging (No light). Any suggestions for things I may check from here? And yes I did check the PS for voltage and there is power, but I did not read how much. Thanks in advance.
