Direct lcd replacement is far easier, but expensive.
The glass, is mcuh cheaper to do, but difficult to start. If you have a heat gun, get a temperature reader, if you end up buying an lcd, you might as well try it, I have a heat plate for mine (this is a side line for me), and I keep the glass at 75 Celsius.
Then use something very thin to start at the top, if you got it warm enough, you will see the glue pull away. I then switch to one of those windows razor blades which is filed down, this covers the whole screen when prying. Heat a little and push, heat and push.
then when you get to the bottom, careful of the softkeys.
With the glass off, the remaining LOCA will rub off with your fingers!!
Then follow the rest of the videos to apply LOCA
On ebay uk, you can buy really cheap sets, which include razor blades, alcohol wipes, lcd cloth, uv pen light, loca, wire. All for £12. This is cheap stuff though.
But if you feel you need to buy the whole lcd anyway. Give it a shot!
