You need to grab the original digitiser, and put them side by side. You'll notice alongbthe bottom on the original is some black tape covering the the entire width just below the clear part of the glass.  And also, the home button flex has small gold contacts, these also need covering as they touch the frame and cause all sorts of crazy stuff to happen.

If you still have problems after this, I have noticed something else which no one has mentioned

When the digitiser is unclipped from the board, and the ic connector is remived from the adhesive on the frame, if the small black rubbery tape bit gets removed,  this needs to transferred over, as all the little solder joints I believe touch the frame and freak it out too. If you dont have any of this, then normal insulation tape will work, but this is very sticky and have to be careful if you need to remove it again.
