jud, you will have to disassemble your flip right down to removing the logic board. Uses [guide|9441|this teardown] to get an idea of what is involved. The outer plastic case is a pain (lots of glue) and it will never look the same:-) The on/off button is held in place by a small plastic spring piece. It may have broken off on you and that is the reason for the retracted button. Biggest hurdle on this repair is to obtain a replacement part.
