I replaced the screen/digitzer on my son's 4th gen Ipod, and nothing happened when I turned it on, so I checked all the connections, and nothing happened.

Today, I tried the battery ground, and the screen came on. Wahoo!

BUT....the touch screen is not responding to touch. I used the voice commands and can play music or use facetime.

What else can I try? The orange ribbon in the upper left corner (that is sitting on a plastic-like pad) was near the site of screen break, and there is some remaining black stickiness in that area. I did remove all the shards and pieces. Should I try to remove this residue? Is this a sensitive area?

Any other way to know if I just got a bad digitizer or if I damaged the Ipod itself?
