-To stop dust getting in, jam "something" in the headphone jack. I found that cutting an old headphone plug off ( the part you put in the jack ), and then inserting it in backware ( ie rubber bit in 1st ) and then cutting the rest down to an appropriate size works well. There are apparently plugs you can buy, but I can't find any locally. I guess you could also use bluetack or chewing gum or something :P
