If its just the screen and digitizer that went out, there is nothing to be scared, it probably gradually broke after maybe a fall or something similar,

or if you have motivation and confidence fix the screen yourself, but first before fixing you need to be sure why it broke, if you remember sitting on it or banging against a table ground a fall... What ever because if is something causing it to brake, to much current for example, I don't know I am guessing here, it will brake again....

its up to you, you could aswell search a phone specialised shop next to you, but they would make it really more expensive.
