I agree with Kerri. What I would do first though is always wear some latex or vinyl gloves, as any oils from your fingers on gold contacts can affect the signal quality. Gloves should be worn ANYTIME a mobile device is opened up. I would say to power the device down, but seeing how you can't, then you'll just need to disconnect the battery after lifting the digitizer. After lifting up the digitizer, carefully flip up the FPC digitizer tabs to avoid breaking them off and remove the cables. Use some alcohol prep pads to wipe down the gold contacts just incase you may have touched them with you bare hands when putting the digitizer in place before. Let it air dry before inserting them back in the connectors. Insert cables all the way in and flip down on the tabs. Plug the battery back in and place the digitizer back in place, then power on.
