I believe the top case may be warped a bit...I was very careful when i put the hard drive in and i never even took the optical drive out of its area in the case...however, as reMacberlin stated, I think my problem stems from the kb not being seated all the way...i canot seem to get those metal clips to grab on to the clips on the case...is there some trick to that?  thanks!
