Speakers do not work after I installed a new housing.

I was trying to make everything new on my iPad mini and after I switched the housing the speakers stopped working I have tried taking them out and putting them back in to no success.  I don't understand how they work but everything is put in correctly anybody have any ideas??? Maybe try a factory reset?
