I have had the same (or similar) problem with two different extended batteries:
-The batteries seemed to not take charge, when plugged into the charger I could run the phone and a flash appeared in the battery icon but the charge percentage didn't rise above 0%. If I changed to an other battery it would work normally.

Well today I found the solution ([http://www.askmefast.com/Battery_on_samsung_galaxy_s2_wont_charge_anymore-qna1239813.html|here])
Solution:
-* Turn the phone of
-* Remove the battery
-* Wait 10 seconds
-* Plug in the charger
-* Insert the battery
-* Turn on the phone
+* Turn the phone off.
+* Remove the battery.
+* Wait 10 seconds.
+* Plug in the charger.
+* Insert the battery.
+* Turn on the phone.
-I now have two working batteries :-) I think that the circuit in the battery that protects it from over- and undercharging needs a reset.
