I would run Disk Utilities on this drive before returning.  Since the machine will not boot with the SSD installed and the drives are not hot swappable, I would boot the machine from the highest system you have installed on your hard drives.  Then attach the SSD via USB using a n external carrier or a Universal Adapter and see if the drive can be repaired.  [product|IF107-108]
