You can indeed, I do not know the difficulty of doing so but I don't imagine it would be either hard or simple. It would depend, do you have any experience in changing LCDs/Digitizers?
I had presumed by screen you meant the LCD but the most commonly broken part on any touch screen device tends to be the Digitizer (Touch Screen) but it would seem that the two are fused together well according to a video I've just seen so it doesn't really matter which one is broken, they will both need to be replaced I think.

This will show you the difficulty/complexity level of replacing it, but it will depend upon your knowledge of replacing electrical components.
