mike, ifixit does not do any repairs. Here you will find advise on how to fix things yourself :) The USB port is soldered to the board. You could try and replace it by purchasing a USB port from places like Mouser.com or digikey.com. the other thing you could do, is to solder a USB cable to it. Get yourself a USB cable, cut the male end off, and solder those to the board, this will leave you with a female port to connect your HDD to.
