# Remove the [guide|771|access door] and [guide|754|battery]

# Remove the [guide|756|lower case] and [guide|760|mid wall]

# Remove the keyboard bracket by unscrewing two #00 Philips screws
# Disconnect the trackpad cable from the logic board

# Remove the 8 #00 screws near the top of the underside of the trackpad, keeping track of which screw goes where

# Remove the T6 height adjustment screw near the bottom of the underside of the trackpad

# Remove the 6 triwing screws near the top of the underside of the trackpad, keeping track of which screw goes where

# Remove the 1 triwing height adjustment screw near the bottom of the underside of the trackpad
# Swivel the trackpad out of the machine, making sure the cable clears the hole

# Install the new metal shims, using #00 screws 2,3, 6, and 7, and route the cable through the hole

# Screw in #00 screws 1, 4,5, and 8, making sure there is an even gap around the trackpad (having uneven gaps results in rubbing and cracking of the glass).

# Connect the trackpad to the logic board!

# Screw in the T6 height adjustment screw only far enough to get satisfactory clicking on the trackpad

# Reinstall battery and lower case, and you're done!
