How to fix sticky trackpad?

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I haven't spilled anything or dropped/damaged my computer, but recently the far right side of my trackpad has become sticky to click (I have to press it harder) and it makes a different sound. The left side feels normal. In addition, the far right side is not as responsive to my finger movements, and I can't do multitouch gestures there. It seems like this might be related to the button issue. I found the useful repair guide here on how to replace the trackpad, but I was wondering if there was simply a way to clean/adjust the button or something without having to buy a new trackpad. Thanks for any help!
