ATV2 thinks it's on ethernet even when ethernet cable is unplugged

ATV2 keeps saying that "to switch to wifi, remove the ethernet cable". The ethernet cable is NOT plugged in yet ATV2 thinks its is.

Even when I plug an ethernet cable and sometimes configure the connection manually, it does not connect at all.

So with the ethernet cable plugged it does not work, and when unplugged, the ATV2 things it is plugged, hence no wifi! :-(

Any help please? Thanks guys
