iPod 4th Generation or Photo: Replaced old 60GB Tosiba HDD with 128GB SSD. But, only showing 55.8GB.

Hi,

In my research to upgrade the iPod Photo 4th gen, I found that 256GB was the limit.

I couldn't find any 256GB 50pin IDE SSDs, so I purchased this: https://www.memoryc.ie/14775-128gb-kings...

which lists it as compatible for my iPod.

Only trouble is that the iPod is only showing 55.8GB in the about UI and in iTunes.

I've done the restore iPod in iTunes going by what other people have said and it done that no problem. I've also sync'd a song and that works.

Just the size is not displaying correctly on the iPod or iTunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

iPod 4th Generation or Photo: Replaced battery & now it's cycling Logo, Sad Face & Low Battery

I replaced the battery on the 40GB Mono Chrome iPod 4th Gen. I followed the guide to the T. Now I have it back together and plugged it into my Mac. It's cycling through the Apple Logo, then the Sad Face with the support url, and then to the Low Battery symbol. It stays on the low battery symbol for about 3-5 minutes then starts over.

I took it apart again and checked all the connections. I also heard if you gently whack it on the right side (while it's facing up) it might stop the sad face. I tried both of these and still have the same symptoms.

I also tried plugging it into an A/C outlet and it just cycled through the Apple Logo and the Sad Face. It didn't show the battery.

Help this is for a client of mine and I've never had this problem before. Thanks

iPod 4th Generation or Photo: iPod will show sad folder then it will show the sad iPod?

I’m flash modding my iPod and when I turn it on the sad floder will appear (as expected) and it will try to connect to my computer, but once it does, it will turn off and then on again (disconnecting) and the sad iPod shows up until I unplug and then plug the battery back in. After that it just does everything over again.

Disk mode also does the same thing and I’ve also tired to connect it with the old hard drive in and it does the same thing.

I’ve also checked the port and the battery in debug but nothing there seems broken. I’ve also tried different sd card sizes (2, 64, and 128) and formatted them to FAT32 and they all have the same results.
