iPhone 5: My iPhone keeps rebooting/shutting down by itself?

I have had this iPhone 5 since just months after it was released in 2012. Dropped it a few times, but nothing major happened except for the lock button busted. Recently, my iPhone just keeps on shutting off all by itself. I could be on whatsapp or instagram or something and the screen will just shut down. Or sometimes lines will appear slowly and then it'll shut down. Other times, the same thing will happen but it'll reboot. But I've noticed that if I'm charging the phone, it doesn't really crash as much. Still does though. And I mean not just crashing like once a day. I mean I use it less than 2 minutes and it'll crash. And if it's not charging, it tends to die even more easily than when I'm not using it. It almost certainly will die every single time when I lock the phone. What's the matter? ): Help!

iPhone 4: My phone is not able to make or receive calls, why?

Despite being connected to the network, I am unable to make calls or receive calls on my iPhone 4.

When I try to make a call, the phone immediately shows "call failed" even without any ringing.

When others call my number, they report that my phone is 'disconnected.'

iPhone 5: Why is iPhone 5 stuck on "searching..."?

I recently replaced the following parts in an iPhone 5:

Lightning connector assembly

Power button/volume control cable

Logic board interconnect cable(s)

After doing so, the device powers on fine and functions normally. It can even place and receive calls!

However, my phone's service coverage now shows "Searching..." and never indicates actual service bars (AT&T Bars). Any thoughts and possible solutions are greatly appreciated!

iPhone 6: iPhone 6 died suddenly and won't turn on.

Dear ifixit family,

I recently got an iphone 6 which was working quite nicely up until 2 days ago when the phone turned off, and when I clicked the home button, it showed me the red battery logo and the cable logo. Upon which I connected it to a charger, and the cable logo disappeared. Thinking all was fine, I left the phone to charge for almost an hour, and tried turning it back on.

And my blood ran cold. No response from the phone. Tried the home+power button routine. No dice. Left it on charge for a further 3 hours and tried all the possible combinations including holding the home button and connecting it to my mac. Nada.

It's been almost three days now and the phone isn't recognised by my mac nor is it turning on. Please help. I've had to go through a LOT including letting my client enslave me for 3 months. *sob*

iPhone 4: The volume bar has disappeared. There's no sound in apps.

Hi,

When I press the + and - buttons, the volume icon appears, but the slider is empty. When I receive a call, I hear it ring, and I can hear the ringtones in the sound menu. However, the message/mail notifications don't make any noise, and I can't hear the sound menu.

I changed my LCD screen and upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 the same day. Now, I have a strange problem, and I don't know if the cause is an iOS 5 bug or a physical problem.

I restored the device many times on iOS 5, but it doesn't fix the problem. Here are some other symptoms:

During a phone call, if I put the conversation on speakers, it works and the volume bar reappears. I can control the volume with the + and - buttons. But when the conversation is over, the bar disappears again.

With the headphones, everything is ok!

I also noticed (only a few times) that when I do a repring (with changing the language of the phone), the volume slider reappears and works correctly for 2 or 3 seconds, before disappearing again.

My guess is that this is an iOS 5 problem, since the speakers work.

Can you please help me?

Thanks from Paris.

iPhone 5s: iPhone 5s Completely dead - won't charge or turn on

Hello, I've got a customers iPhone 5 bought in for a screen & battery replacement which won't turn on at all. It wouldn't turn on even BEFORE I attempted to repair anything.

She states that it was working with poor battery life before she gave it to me. I trust her.

I did the usual, Hard Reset, Removing & Replacing the battery, trying with a different screen. However the phone doesn't respond to anything, I don't feel any vibrations with the mute switch.

Usually when it comes to this I remove the battery and plug in the phone, this usually flashes the Apple logo, however it won't work this time.

Is removing the battery a valid test? Could replacing the battery still work? ( I don't have stock at the moment, it's coming next week)

Any other ideas?
