I have an LG 70UN7070PUA, 4k television I'm having a problem with. It's hard to explain but I'm getting these red pixel smears on the screen. They movie around when something on the screen moves. I replaced the TCon board but it's still doing the same thing. It does this on all 3 hdmi ports and no matter what hdmi cables I use. Should I try replacing the main board next, or is something else the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

E420-A0: Vizio T.V. (model num E3D420VX) sometimes has black and white picture

Hello everyone!

I have a 42 inch Vizio TV (model number: E3D420VX). The issue at hand is that sometimes when I turn the TV on, it has a black and white picture. The TV plays whatever I’m watching (it also has sound when it does this) but just in black and white, no color. It goes back to normal after turning the TV off and then back on. It doesn’t do this on a regular basis though; it usually does it every now and then. the TV was purchased new in 2012 I believe around when it was first released. I think it may be worth knowing that this particular TV is mounted on the wall.

Thank you for all your guys’ help!

Hitachi Television: Repaired TV LED Backlight now not getting any display only lines

Hi

I hope you guys can help.

My TV model is a Hitach 42hxt12u 42” TV and am having problems with it.

First let me tell you the repair history.

I would used the TV to attach my computer to it via hdmi to test it and one time the TV turned on but it was black no backlight no nothing and after checking out other forums I found out that my backlight LED’s had blow and needed to replace them.

I managed to replace them and got them working before closing up the tv panel making sure not to bend the glass or anything. Frame was a little tight to put back it the part below the glass but above the white sheets but managed.

After putting it back one of the flex cable on the Tcon board, the back blue plastic came off, so I glued it back on and placed it back in the tconn board and tested the tv first time after replacing the LED’s it did not work, there were lots of vertical lines if i remember correctly but after cleaning the contacts of the tcon flex cable and putting it back the tv worked, it displayed except for one vertical line, so i removed the cable for that side cleaned it and saw the contact was peeling off, then it felll off so I used tin foil into a tiny strip placed it in the last contact glued it and put it in the socket didn’t work was worse, took out the cable, some glue was stuck on the socket, so cleaned the socket and the cable and put the cable back in and used digital multimeter to ensure there was continuity from the socket on the tcon board to the end of the flex cable where the contacts were intact and had no problem.

So now after putting the tconn board back ensure connection through the cable and made sure there was no short circuit, the tv worked but with a lot of vertical lines the backlight would turn on and then a few seconds later the tv would turn off then turn back on with backlights still normal brightness then the lights dim down and still lots of vertical lines.

I’m thinking it’s the tcon board, but after disconnecting the tcon board, it’s blank obviously but there is small signs of strips on the top of the screen but the display is blank but bright.

Also one time when i disconnected the tconn board from the main board and turned it on, I could still see the single vertical line, but maybe its a residue thing.

So now I am stuck on what to do next, the flex cable is not the problem as there is continuity, do you think it is the tconn board.

Would appreicate your help
