The guide warns about the right side of the watch around the stem to be very careful because of the connections. Well on my 44mm watch those connections are on the bottom. I cut through the bottom left connector; what is its function? The watch still had residual power and would show the time (bottom right) and I could not fully discharge the battery. It was off for 2 weeks before I started to work on it.

Like I mentioned above it's the lower left connector that has a screw holding it down. I think it is a ground point but am not positive. Thanks in advance to anyone who can identify this for me.
