Orange: Why does my orange have a green fuzzy spot?

I was disassembling my orange when the anti-tampering mechanism turned on for the fifth time and sprayed my already stinging eyes. So I left the basement (where I do all my work) and decided to have a go on it the next day. However when I came back the was a green fuzzy spot where I had removed the outer shell. Is this normal?

Software: OS Lion is available for download

Lion became available this morning. At 9:05 it took 20 minutes. Download time is running an hour and forty five minutes. No telling how long it will take once email notifications are sent out. Just wanted to notify ya'll.

The incapacity of Lion to allow the functioning of the Power PC applications may be a major problem, the problem is the abandonment of Rosetta. Rosetta allows Power PC apps to run with an Intel processor. Before doing this update, it would be wise to check which applications, which small utilities will not function any more and to benefit from it to do the housekeeping or to find an equivalent with the Intel code of it.

CultOfMac offers a simple solution to track all this software. Make the following command in the terminal:

system_profiler SPApplicationsDataType >~/Desktop/MyFileTypes.txt

It will create on your desk a textual file " MyFileTypes.txt" that will contain all the list of the applications of your computer. Open and do a search for the occurrence " Kind: PowerPC".

All the software that have this label will not function on Lion.

For those who still imperatively need a Power PC application and who want nevertheless to upgrade to Lion, I suggest that they keep a partition Snow Leopard on their machine.

I ran this Terminal command and the list of programs that won't work on my machine was very extensive. Even my Adobe CS 2 won't work. I'll be installing this system on something that doesn't matter. This appears worse than my transition from system 9 and the loss of all those programs collected for so many years. I'm very disappointed with this revelation of Lion.

UPDATE

Lion is not a upgrade only. It will install a full version. I tried burning it onto a DVD but got media errors twice. I moved it to an external firewire drive to move it around. I didn't think it installed at first, it gives you an app that tells you what programs won't run with it. It requires a couple of restarts to install. The install took 22 minutes. It automatically opens migration assistant on the first boot.

To my surprise, migration assistant moved over all the apps that it says won't work so I will have to go in and clean them all out.

Business Development: Need advice and tips before starting a repair business

Hello! I have been starting to fix phones for a lot of my friends quite often, I also work at a iPhone LCD refurbishing business which gives simplicity in getting screens for my repairs.

I'm thinking about going full force into the repair business basically by posting ads, making business cards, etc. I don't intend to rent out a shop or anything just become a mobile iphone repair tech on the side of my main job.

What is some advice you can give me to help me before starting out? Additionally, are you a mobile repairman or do you own a shop? What are occurances and problems you've ran into that could be solved more easily with the right preparation?

I already figured a good thing would be to have backup and extra's of everything, screws, backplate's, camera's and such.

I'm also curious, is there any difference between a 6s and 6s plus front facing camera ? My boss tells me there are and it's not that I don't believe him I just don't understand how there could be differences between them. I know the back camera in the 6s+ has OIS unlike the 6s, but thats all I can think of.

Thanks for reading.

Also can run apps what are no longer supported under El Capitan - specially Adobe Photoshop and Premiere.

But my question is - it is legal from Apple side ? Thanks a lot for any advice/ideas.

Mac OS X: Cloning 250 GB hard drive to 512 SSD with bootcamp partition

Hi,

First of all, sorry for my English but I'm not native!

Background: I just reached the capacity limit of my 250 GB HD intially bought with my MPB 15" (late 2008). The current HD is partitioned with 210GB for the Mac OS X Lion, and 40GB for Bootcamp with Windows 7.

My plan is to change the HD with a Crucial M4 512GB SDD and eventually allocate 450GB to OS X Lion, and 112GB to Bootcamp.

Of note, I do have a time machine back-up but I guess it only concern the files under OS X Lion.

I will need your view on the following:

1- In order not to reinstall everything, the quickiest way would be to clone the HD on the SDD, i.e. follow method #2 (from step 19).

a) How 250GB of data will be cloned on a 512GB volume space?

b) Is there as step during the cloning where we can decide to change the partition volume?

c) in summary, can I use cloning to reach my goal?

2- If the cloning does not allow me to reach my goal, I guess I will have to do a Fresh re-installation following your method #1?

3 - Finally, could you please confirm that I can replace the HD with the SDD using the following instruction guide.

Thanks a lot for your help and guides !

Cheers,

Emmanuel

Software: Problems with Safari & Software Update in OSX 10.5.8

MacPro G5 dual 2.0

I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem. I updated my FireFox to 3.6.4 last night and it recommended installing the new Adobe ( I think Flash). Safari windows will not open, Software Update fails to function or even open. I had heard something about Adobe and Apple having a tussel. This is unacceptable. Has Adobe put the screws to me? Anyone else run into this problem?

It was install_flash_player_osx_ub(2).dmg Just downloaded Safari 5.0 and will try installing again. Re-install failed.

It probably is Adobe http://blogs.computerworld.com/adobe_fla... The question now is how to fix it. I download and ran Flash uninstaller and the problem persists.

UPDATE - I used the amnesia to remove flash, firefox and safari. I then reinstalled the Safari. It opens but no window and can't log into Apples software update. I would use migration assistant to restore the older versions but they're on an intel MBP and I don't know if that would work. Any suggestions would be welcomed at this point. I used migration assistant to move the Library from an old system on a second HD and it restored my ability to use Safari again. Software update still does nothing.

Well I’ve installed windows 10 Pro 32bit on it now and it runs fine, faster than I thought it would run on a single core. I got all my softwares installed. One thing it can’t run at all is 3D graphics and Videos, is runs google earth for a couple minutes and then crash’s and video plays behind the audio.
