It was purchased new in a MicroCenter in the USA. Parts such as the screen & battery used to be listed in the ifixit store as they are partners. However if you check now:
HMD Fusion Battery
you will find them not sold in the USA. This is true for every part except a spare sim try, or for a specific variant (ta-1640) a back cover is also available. No other parts.
When chatting with a rep, i was told:

I should also note that this device is still being sold new on retailers such as amazon, micro center, newegg, & prob other places even though they no longer service the usa with the services that they are advertising, which is also the most valuable decision to me when making a purchase.

This device was purchased by me because i thought id be able to keep it alive for longer since the brand distributed parts. This phone is also listed on ifixit's page for most repair friendly phone which is a huge green flag for a new device purchase for me. I believe they should no longer have a position on this list if this is the case.

Critical components like the screen and battery have been out of stock for a decent amount of time.

HMD is no help and directs me to iFixit (makes sense since the parts are sold directly on the iFixit store for this device).

Can anyone confirm? I'm still within my return window on this device and if the parts are discontinued I might as well return the device.

If so, when did you get the battery? Where did you get it? Ifixit don't have any, don't have any on order and say themselves the wait will be unreasonable. Gsmnet don't have any and even a trawl of random sites on the internet isn't bringing any up.

Can't believe I bought a self repairable phone from a manufacturer who doesn't supply spares to the public or their repair partners. I would never touch a Nokia/ HMD again!

New parts are hard to get by and I was wondering if people know you can either replace/solder a button or do I need to buy a new flexcable?

Also, I tend to have trouble closing the case properly without getting the buttons nice and snug. They some to snag on the case somehow.. I'm probably doing something wrong while closing. Every advice is welcome! :D
