After replacing the battery, connected it an an external monitor and all are working. But when I attach the display back, I see light on the display but no image and it won't boot. Any idea?

whenever I close the screen the type cover fully disconnects or i get a pop-up when i open the screen saying that the last usb device has malfunctioned. My current solution is to restart the device and remove the type cover, and reattach the cover when the device powers back on. I've tried cleansing the terminals but the problem persists

Microsoft Surface Pro 6: Battery not detected, works for a while tho

Hello Community.

My Surface pro 6 is not detecting the battery. If it's on and I unplug it it turns off. It doesn't turn on while disconnected. Also the battery icon disappeared and there is no battery driver no matter how many times I reset or reinstall windows or drivers.

If I turn the computer on while plugged then disconnect it while on Windows Logo (booting) it will stay on, I am able to use it normally but there still no battery icon nor drivers and after a while it shutdowns completely.

I am looking for the replacement battery on iFixit but I am not sure if the battery is really the issue or if may be something else like connector or motherboard problem.

If anyone else has had this situation or know of a solution I would appreciate any comment

I have a surface pro 6 1796. i have replaced the screen before (with this) and it worked fine until the digitizer/control board died, now I am trying to replaced it again (with this other screen) and digitizer. i only have 1096 pressure with this setup and the tilt function causes the screen to think im touching in random spots. THEN, if i run surface diag it breaks the pen pressure, and nothing at all at various angles! what am i doing wrong...

Hello, is it possible to repair the soldered screen connector (large pro connector 6) to the motherboard?

it is during the replacement of the touch screen that the screen connector on the motherboard was damaged. I would like to know if it is possible to replace this connector on the motherboard.

Hello,

1) I have an issue with my Surface 6 Pro, which I bought used with a broken display. I replaced the screen. When I turn it on, the backlight makes the screen bright for a few seconds, then it stays dark. When I connect the device to an external monitor, everything is shown there. I can even use the touchscreen of the device. Nevertheless, there is displayed nothing on itself. Which is weird, because the screen turns bright short, so there is a working connection somehow (I even tested 2 flex cables).

2) The weird thing is, I tested the same thing with the same screen on a Surface Pro 5 LTE Advanced. Same thing there, except, one time, the Surface Logo was shown. Otherwise, same problem. In addition to that, I replaced the battery on the second device. A small LED right above the battery turns on when I connect the charger. The device boots like the Pro 6 (nothing on screen except the short brightness after pressing the power button). But it also turns off immediatly when i remove the charger. When I first inserted the new battery, the LED also turned on just from the contact between mainboard and battery. This is not the case anymore and I dont know why.

Under windows, the battery charges regulary. Charger removed - device dead instantly. Cant turn on without battery.

Added: With the Pro 5, the LED also lights up when I completely remove the battery and connect the device to the charger.

My Kickstand started to pop out in the middle of the back on my SP6. Can I use the SP5 Kickstand replacement on it? or better yet can I put an adhesive on the tabs since i’m assuming that is what is causing it to pop out?

If I can use an adhesive which is recommended? Thank you!
