DualShock 3: Why doesn't my PS3 controller work?

My PS3 controller recently stopped working after a friend borrowed it. It worked fine prior to his use, but now it seems like it has no power—and when I plug it in, it doesn't connect for charging. I can't use it and am wondering if it could be the lithium battery or if there is a soldered connection that came undone from the USB port. Can this be repaired or is this $50.00 controller that is less than a year old garbage?

Whenever I play a game the controller justs starts choosing options that match the buttons out of nowhere without them being pressed. For Example I'll play call of duty and all of the sudden I'll start switching weapons or shooting without me pressing the button.

My controller is pressing buttons randomly for itself, like a problem that has been posted before:

I've already opened the controller, and I haven't seen anything weird or abnormal in it. And in that previous post, the guy doesn't say what worked for him. Is there a way to fix this problem that has been proven to work? Or, do I just need to buy a new one?

DualShock 3: X O Triangle and Square buttons not working‏

Hello all,

I am having trouble with my PS3 controller, all X O Triangle and Square buttons are not working. I have taken the unit apart, placed tape between the ribbon as advised elsewhere, but still these buttons simply don't work. The select PS and start buttons are fine however along with the D pad.

Could anyone please advise on how this issue can be fixed?

My dualshock 3 right analog stick rotate in game camera by itself.Yesterday I was playing gta 5 suddenly the camera starts moving around the player then the same problem occurs during driving.I think that was a problem with glolame then I start last of us and same problem occur but it was more frustrating. It's making every game unplayable. I can't aim a weapon because aiming view get disturbes like i'm rotation right analog stick it's so much frustrating and silly please help me.

I have had this controller for a few years and it worked fine for at least one of those years but now the analog stick sunk inward and it doesn't work like it used to.

I started using my ps3 after 5 months and now when i press the ps button the system starts but when entering the menu it auto starts to scroll upa and down very fast without any button press.i tried disassembling the controller and thickening that black strip like many youtube videos.but no luck.please help

I disassembled my PS3 Dualshock 3 controller, because the left analog stick has broken, and didn’t move back to the middle position. (Looks like the spring not functioning)

I desoldered the broken analog, and ordered one with the same pin layout (3pin version).

When the new part arrived, I had realized, while the number of the pins are the same, their position are different, so I cannot solder it to the PCB.

I searched on the web, but I didn’t find that type of analog stick, what I exactly need. (Just the 3 and 4 pin version, which are not what I need)

Do you have any idea or tip, from where can I order this kind of analog stick?

DualShock 3: Why does my controller "stick" as if it is being pressed up/sideways

When I try to use one of my controllers it acts like I am pushing the L3 or R3 button a certain way. It does not always do this, but it has gotten to the point where I have quit using that controller.

Also, the controller never had anything spill on it, or is it sticky.

I recently took apart my DS3 and put it back together, ever since then I have received 4 flashing red lights everytime i plug it in. It does not give off any lights when unplugged

Edit: I have used the reset button and switched batteries.

Hello!

I have DualShock3 I use it for 1 year mybe..

One day I try to use it and I press the home button and it doesn't work!!

I try to open the consle and fix it

It's work good but the r1, r2, l1, l2 not working!!

I go to store and tell him..

and he tell you must change all the paper button because the consle crash!!

i think he is layer because he told my give me 17$ and I will fix it

Any idea about that :(

Yesterday, I brought a new controller for my ps3 and connected it to the Ps3, but when I disconnected it and tried to connect it without it usb cable, it caused a problem where it never connected to the Ps3 and every time I press the PS button, it just switches light to Light 1,2 or 3. The controller is still doing hat and not turning off! Anyway to fix it?

DualShock 3: Can't get the vibrators out

So my remote had the entire left handle sheared off,

but it still works so im gonna try to fix the damage, but i cant seem to get the vibrators out as the guides appear to have different models (if that's even a thing idk) and so im kinda stick. Appeceriate help.if possible
